Send Broadcast Now button not working

Postby jeffrydell » Thu Sep 02, 2010 1:54 pm

The Send Broadcast Now button on the Blog Broadcast Settings page appears to be disabled. Any thoughts on why this might happen?

We have a blog set up for weekly broadcasts, the user missed the 'deadline day' and now we need to get the word out about a time sensitive matter.

Any quick help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks -

Jeff

Please, set the date to the past in order at least one post is shown in the preview panel. The Broadcast button is disabled if there are no posts in the preview screen.

I'm sorry - I forgot to mention that there IS a post in the preview screen. I would not have been concerned if there was nothing to send ... but there is a message waiting to go out.

So now what?

I opened my WP admin panel and went to G-Lock Opt-In -> Blog Broadcast Settings. Even if I don't have any posts in the preview screen, the "Send Broadcast Now" button is active. I can click on it. What happens after you click on the "Send Broadcast Now" button? Or, is this button not clickable in your case?

Thank you for the prompt reply ... VERY much appreciated!

My cursor turns from an arrow to a hand with a pointing finger, but when I click on the button, nothing appears to happen at all. I checked the source code and the button has 'disabled="disabled"' in the tag.

This is a plugin bug that was brought with the last update. It's on my to-do list and I'll try to release a fix somewhere around September 6-7. As a workaround you can disable and enable plugin to release broadcast lock that makes plugin think broadcast is still running.

Thanks Alex - I appreciate you taking the time to write and update the status.

I'll keep an eye open for an update and be sure to download / install as soon as it comes out.

Thanks also for the workaround.

Hi Jeff,

The new version of the plugin 2.4.9 is available. Please, upgrade and see how the "Send Broadcast Now" button works.

592 Dog Agility enthusiasts in the Dallas / Fort Worth area are now better informed about their sport because of your efforts.

It worked just fine - thanks so much!

Could You please take a quick look at http://www.viking.ee/en/, I have updated the plugin to the latest version and the "subscribe now" button still appears not to work, even though it really does.

What I mean by not working is that the mouse icon does not turn into "a hand" by default.

Edit: Nevermind, fixed it myself via CSS
